Rosalie Freeman, 87, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, January 08, 2013. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Thursday January 10, 2013 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The graveside service, officiated by Rev. Jim Pittman, will be held at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm. At other times, the family will meet at her daughters home. Mrs. Freeman was born on September 7, 1925, in Richmond County, to the late Earl McLester and the late Eula McLester. She is also preceded in death by her husband William Freeman, Jr., in 2001 and two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Alice Allred of Concord; son, Larry Freeman of Concord; grandchildren, Tammy Atkinson and husband Todd of Mooresville, Christine Freeman of Charlotte, Candy Doby and husband Travis of Concord and Bill Freeman of Charlotte; and five great grandchildren; sister, Lily Johnson of Rockledge, FL and several nieces and nephews. Rosalie worked many years in the music business having worked at Kidd- Frix Music Co, Carl’s Record Shop, and the Music Mart of Concord until her retirement. She was also a jewelry consultant for Sarah Coventry Jewelry. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Concord until she was unable to attend. In earlier years she had served as a Sunday School Teacher, choir member and also Church Clerk. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Ln. Kannapolis, NC 28081 or First Baptist Church 200 Branchview Dr. Southeast, Concord NC 28025. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Freeman family.
