Ronald “Ron” F. Lincoln, 77, of Charlotte, passed away in June of 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born in 1949, in Forest City, Missouri to Louis and Geneva Lincoln. He attended grade school and two years high school in Forest City, MO and finished his junior and senior year of high school in Oregon MO. Ron was very active in sports, playing basketball for four years in high school as well as track and field. He attended Highland Jr. College for a short time where he also played basketball before he joined the Navy. Ron became a medical corpsman stationed in Philadelphia, PA before being deployed on the Aircraft Carrier USS Independence, and finally ending up in Newport, Rhode Island. During his time in Philadelphia, he met his future wife, Betty Anne on a blind date.

After the Navy, Ron started working for the US Postal Service. His postal career started in St. Joseph, MO where he sorted mail and worked the counter. He transitioned from St. Joseph, MO to Media, PA. Ron worked his way up to the highest levels of the Post Office, becoming Postmaster of Pittsburgh, PA, and then District Manager of Charlotte, NC.

Ron and his wife, Betty Anne were married for 54 years, they have a daughter, Jennifer. They enjoyed walking the mall together every morning.

Ron’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Two of the greatest moments were when his daughter got married and his granddaughter graduated from college. He was an avid reader, loved anything and everything that had to do with space, was a western film buff, and history enthusiast. He was a gentle giant of a man, kindhearted, easygoing, and selfless. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Lincoln and his mother Geneva Lincoln. Survivors include his wife Betty Anne, his daughter Jennifer, son- in law Jayme, and his granddaughter Rebecca. Brothers Richard (Jo Ellen), Randall (Pamela), sister Rita Harris (Elton), many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life gathering is being planned and will be held at a later date.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Lincoln family.
