Ronny Hooks

Ronald "Ronny" Wayne Hooks, 73, of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Ronny was born January 30, 1952 in Concord, NC, to the late Clyde Hooks and the late Dorothy Mae Plummer Hooks.

Ronny was always very appreciative and had the sweetest spirit. He always had a smile on his face and you'd always get a hug. He was such a sweetheart and always had kind words to say. Ronny enjoyed working alongside his dad. He also liked mowing the grass on his zero-turn mower. Ronny enjoyed working and loved the people at UNC Charlotte. He enjoyed being around family, especially the kids. "Love ya"- Ronny.

Survivors include brother, Clyde (Linda) Hooks, Jr. of Fort Mill, SC; brother, Tommy (Pam) Hooks of Hickory, NC; sister, Diane Kelly of Monroe, NC; 8 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Road, Monroe. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Andy Simpson. Following the service, Ronny will be laid to rest by his parents at Harrisburg Baptist Church Cemetery, 6525 Morehead Road, Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Missions, 6223 Love Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
