Ronald Wayne Evans, Sr.

Ronald Wayne Evans, Sr., passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at St. Andrews Living Center in Concord, where he resided for the last ten months.

Ronald was born December 13, 1943 in Cabarrus County to the late Gray Presley Evans and the late Evelyn Evans. He attended Concord High School. He served in the US Navy on the USS Midway.

He was a lifetime truck driver and retired in 2006 from USF Holland. After retirement he drove for Morrison Brothers Building Center Gypsum Division.

Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing at the coast, and playing cards. He was a member of the American Legion Post 51 for 55 years.

He is survived by a son, Ronald W. (Wheezer) Evans, Jr. and wife Kristen of Concord; granddaughter, Hailee and grand-dog, Cash. He is also survived by a sister, Linda E. Moore of Newport News, VA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Tucker of Concord.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The graveside service will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at St. Andrews Living Center for the care, love, and support shown to Mr. Evans while he was a resident there.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 51 located at 165 Wilshire Ave. SW, Concord, NC 28025.
