Roberta Hood

Roberta Mullis Hood, 69, of Midland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023 with her beloved family by her side.

Roberta was born June 7, 1953 in Union County to the late Robert and Lou Nell Mullis.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Greg Mullis.

Roberta was a dedicated worker for over 24 years at SMI Properties in Concord.  She was a devoted grandmother and loved doing crafts with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed pottery, jewelry making, and glasswork.  She loved walking in the sand, looking for shells.  She also loved gardening and feeding her koi fish.  Roberta loved taking photos, especially of hummingbirds.  Most of all, Roberta was a loving wife, mom, grandma and sister.  She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, David Wayne Hood of Midland; son, David Wayne (Kelly) Hood, Jr. of Midland; son, Garrett (Megan) Hood of Fairview; sister, Ann (Mike) Robinson of Mint Hill; brother, Rodney (Rhondie) Mullis of Hemby Bridge; sister-in-law, Kim Mullis of Hemby Bridge; grandchildren, Tylan, Kinley, Julie, Emery, Titus, Haven, and Banks; 4 nieces and 6 nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:15 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Bethel Church, 12700 Idlebrook Rd., Midland.  The funeral service in celebration of Roberta's life will follow at 3:30 pm, officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz & Rev. Jeremy Brackett.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
