Robert Guentner

Robert Louis “Bob” Guentner, 92 years of age of Locust, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 in Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mr. Guentner was born July 29, 1920 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to the late Frank Guentner and Marian Miller Guentner. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Guentner and his sister, Therese Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, October 13, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m., with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at Locust United Methodist Church, 1453 East Main Street in Locust, officiated by Rev. Kevin McCormac. Burial will follow in the church cemetery on Elm Street. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years, Hilda Irene Honeycutt Guentner, of the home; his son, Steven L. Guentner; his daughters, Sue Levin and Sally Miller; his stepsons, Michael Rice and Chuck Rice; his brother, Frank Guentner; his sister, Mary Aldrich; and nine grandchildren.
