Robert Armstrong, Jr

Robert Lee Armstrong, Jr., 56, of Concord, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Carolinas Specialty Hospital in Charlotte. A memorial service to honor Robert’s life will be held at Northside Baptist Church 5900 Providence Church Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 at 11am on Saturday. Robert was born on February 11, 1956 in Forsyth County, to Rose Wall Ivester of King, NC and the late Robert Lee Armstrong, Sr. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Armstrong Wilson. Robert graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1974. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Forsyth Technical Community College. Robert worked at many companies over the course of his career, including R.J. Reynolds, A T & T, John Deere, and Bose Industries. As a man who believed in learning and doing things on his own, he also acquired licenses in electrical wiring and heating and air conditioning. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Judy McDaniel Armstrong of Columbia, SC; son, Robert Lee Armstrong, III and wife Kristen of Columbia, SC; daughter, Tracy Custer and husband Donnie of Concord; grandchildren, Karen and Robert Armstrong, IV, and Liam and Maura Custer; brothers, Roger and Mark Armstrong; sisters, Debbie Irvin and Patricia Edmonds.
