Richard Zmaczynski

Richard Jude Zmaczynski, 52, of New London, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Richard was born December 14, 1969 in New York to the late Richard Anthony Zmaczynski and Karin Ann Bergin Zmaczynski . .

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm, Friday, November 11, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 3:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Father Peter L. Fitzgibbons.

Rich Zmaczynski was a wonderful son and husband, but most of the best father and grandfather. He was the type of person who would drop everything for anyone he loved. especially when it came to Mateo and I. He always made sure we were taken care of and gave us the greatest gift by loving us to pieces. His heart was always filled with joy and love. The sense of humors my father had was like no other. He always had his jokes to share and made sure everyone heard them. He will forever be my best friend and I’ll always honor him and make him proud. Heaven gained another angel and it was my best friend. I love you dad

Survivors include wife, Jill Zmaczynski of New London, NC; daughter, Brittany Ranzie; grandchild, Mateo Ranzie; brothers, Nils Zmaczynski and Michael (Brie) Zmaczynski.

It was the day I pray would never happen was happening.

As I sat in your hospital room looking at you I seen the newborn that I held in my arms.  My mind kept flashing threw the years that we had together, as my heart was breaking.

When you were a year old and the doctors diagnosed you with diabetes I thought they made a mistake, but they didn’t.  And because of diabetes I sat there looking at you and praying for a miracle, that you would open your eyes and come back to me.  I wish I could have 5 more minutes to tell you how much I loved you and how much joy and happiness you brought into my life.

Even though I’m sure you knew.

I’m going to miss you so much. You’ll always be in my heart and I’ll cherish the memories that our family made with you.
