Richard Mccollister

Richard Ellsworth McCollister, 71, of Charlotte, passed away on October 19, 2021, at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC.

He was born on May 17, 1950, to Richard McCollister and Barbara Walker in Portland, Maine. Richard worked as a Project Manager in the banking industry for many years in which he thoroughly enjoyed.  He was known for his passion and love for car racing as an adult.  Richard was a loving husband, father and enjoyed the company of others. Richard will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years Robin, son, Richard McCollister; daughter-in-law, Alexandra McCollister; two granddaughters, Sophie McCollister, Sarah McCollister of Charlotte, NC; four brothers, Ben McCollister, Skip Apple, Peter Vachaon, Jack Walker; four sisters, Peggy Howard, Gretchen Adkins, Laurie Green Myer, Jackie Copper, and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by father, Richard Ellsworth McCollister, mother, Barbara Walker.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021, 11:00 am - 12:45 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Harrisburg, NC.  Funeral services will follow on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.
