Richard David Lee Kirk

Richard David Lee Kirk, 89, of Richfield, NC was called peacefully to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Richard was born in Stanly County on December 15, 1936, to the late Jodie Edward Kirk and the late Bertha Drye Kirk.

Richard was an active member of Wesley Chapel UMC. After retiring from Alcoa, he enjoyed many years volunteering at the Community Table and Meals on Wheels. He served in the US Army and was a volunteer Fireman for Richfield-Misenheimer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Faye Ridenhour Kirk; sisters, Lucille Hamilton, Exie Wilson, and Katherine Burris; and brothers, Charlie Kirk and Lewis Kirk.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Miller Kirk; daughter, Karen (Trent) Culp; sons Ryan (Sally) Kirk and Kristopher(Lily) Kirk; and grandson, Emery (Jenny) Culp.

There will be a graveside service on Friday at 10:00 am at New Bethel Lutheran Church in Richfield, officiated by Rev. Kelly Shrader .
