Richard Almond

Richard Lewis Almond, 81 years of age, of Locust, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Almond was born May 16, 1933 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Lewis Almond and the late Gatha Lambert Almond. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Nolan Almond, and a sister, Brenda Kay Almond.

Mr. Almond was a member of Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church and served as an Elder.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3:00 pm following a 30 min. state at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 24671 Millingport Road, in Locust. Elder Ralph Dale will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Ruth Almond of Locust; daughter, Rhonda Crisco and husband Mike of Oakboro; grandsons, Jason and Matthew Crisco; granddaughters, Dianna Almond and Oleaha Almond; two great granddaughters; two great grandsons; daughter-in-law, Ollie Almond; and sister, Leola Almond Furr of Albemarle.
