Rev. Leo Cramer Kilpatrick Jr.

Leo Cramer Kilpatrick Jr., 72, of Rockwell, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Cramer was born January 1, 1953 in Concord, North Carolina to the late Leo Cramer Kilpatrick Sr. and the late Jean Carolyn McPherson Kilpatrick.

He was also preceded in death by son, Jeremy Cramer Kilpatrick.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Charity Baptist Church located 2420 Brantley Rd #6402, Kannapolis, NC 28083. The funeral service will follow at 2pm officiated by Pastor Marty Payton and Tracy Everhardt. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, 601 Mt Olivet Rd, Concord, NC 28025 at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Reverend Cramer was a wonderful husband, father, and Pop to his grandchildren. Each grandchild can tell you about his famous Billy-Bob Burgers, Santa's cousin, Uncle Smokey, and his sweet tooth. In just a few short days, Cramer would be celebrating his 32 wedding anniversary to his loving wife, Vicki (Cookie). She provided extraordinary care and unwavering support to her husband throughout his illness.

In his younger years, he was a track star at Concord High School and raised beagles for rabbit hunting. His passion included hunting with his sons at his Loblolly pine tree farm in Montgomery County. He loved fishing with his buddies all over North Carolina. He held the record for the largest hybrid striped bass; then several years later beat his own record. He was truly a legendary outdoorsman.

He found much success in his career as a Senior Electrical Estimator at Eldeco, INC. He worked on many large scaled projects including local hospitals, government buildings, and colleges. He retired in 2018 with many accolades on his resume with the completion of his favorite project, the OceanaGold-Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina.

Ordained by the Cabarrus County Baptist Association, Rev. Cramer began the ministry of the Greater Vision Sunday School Class which he taught for over 25 years. In the early 90's he was called to minister to the inmates of Rowan County; he was awarded the volunteer of the year for his dedication to the prison ministry. He poured his heart into studying God's word, writing lessons, and praying with others. He faithfully served as a guest minister, often filling in at churches as a visiting preacher when needed. He will be remembered for the lasting impact he made by always uplifting and encouraging those around him. He was a member and ministered at Charity Baptist Church until his health declined.

Survivors include wife, Vicki Kilpatrick of Rockwell, NC.; daughters, Catherine (Dave) Gillon and, Jade (Todd) Bittle; son, Chase (Loryn)Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Grayson Kilpatrick, Keethen Wood, Olivia Bittle, Shephrd Bittle, Mason Kilpatrick, Griffin Kilpatrick, Millie Kilpatrick, and Oakley Kilpatrick; brothers, Phillip Kilpatrick and Herbert Kilpatrick; sisters, Jeannie Staubus and Carol Lamb; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
