Rebecca Beckey Askew

 Rebecca Askew, 89, of Charlotte, left this world Sunday October 12, 2025 and is peacefully in the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard Lee Askew

 Beckey was born August 5, 1936 at her home in Wilgrove, Mint Hill to the late Sidney C. Huntley and the late Helen W. Huntley. She was 1 of 7 children and the baby of the family.

  Survivors include her daughter, Desiree Freeman, son in law David Freeman, 3 grandchildren, Jesse Freeman, wife Stephanie Freeman, Chase Freeman, and Chelsea Freeman and, 3 great grandchildren, Angelique Freeman, Aidan Freeman, & Dylan Freeman.

There will be a graveside service Thursday October 16th 2:00 at Evergreen Cemetery 11341 Bain School Road, Mint Hill, NC
