Raymond F. Burgess, 96, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
Ray was born May 19, 1928 in New Rochelle, NY, to the late Henry and Mary Burgess.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Occidental Chemical in 1993. Most of all, Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
The memorial mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dolores Seiler Burgess of Charlotte, NC; son Raymond (Kathy) Burgess of Plattsburgh, NY, son Jim (Kelly) Burgess of Harrisburg, NC, grandchildren Samuel, Lisa, Marielle, Carolyn and Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte, 1123 S Church St, Charlotte, NC 28203; 704-370-3262.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Burgess family.
