Ralph Edward Hogan, 71 years of age, of Mount Gilead, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015, at his home, 5314 Woodrun on Tillery, Mt. Gilead, NC 27306.
Ralph was born October 24, 1943 in Montgomery County, North Carolina, to the late Henry Hogan and the late Lola Hogan. He was also preceded in death by brother, William Hogan, and sister, Sarah Scarborough.
A memorial service, officiated by Father Peter Fitzgibbons, will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 416 N. Second Street in Albemarle. The family will receive friends following the service from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Marlene Eling Hogan of Mount Gilead; daughter, Isabell Eling-Hogan of Clemmons; brother, Harold Hogan of Candor; and sisters, Doris Richardson of Mt. Gilead and Carol Clark of Love Joy.
Ralph retired from US Airways in Charlotte after 40 years of service. He served three years in the United States Armed Forces, spending most of his time in Germany.

A special note of thanks is extended to the staff of Carolina Home Care and the staff of Lincare for the care and compassion shown to Ralph during his illness and passing. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Friedberg Family Medicine in Winston Salem.
