Ralph William Drye, 80 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Ralph was born April 11, 1934 in Stanly County to the late Charley Spurgeon Drye and the late Esther Springer Drye. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Dale Drye.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bruce League, will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times the family will be gathering at the home of his daughter, Shannon Talent, 133 Dryewood Ln., Stanfield.
He is survived by his sons, Stanley Drye and wife Sherry of Locust, and Randy Drye and wife Alisha of Stanfield; daughters, Shannon Talent and husband Roger of Stanfield, and Cathy Roberts and husband Hughie of Cherokee; four grandchildren, Ronnie Drye, Jason Springer, Dakota Drye, and Macie Talent; great-grandson, Brayden Springer; brothers, Billy Wayne Drye, Charley Leonard Drye, George Mitchell Drye, and Benny Joe Drye; and sisters, Lillie Drye Tucker, Peggy Sue Drye Honeycutt, and Diana Drye Furr.
Ralph retired from textiles, and later was owner and operator of Drye Septic Tank Service.
