Price Junior Efird

Price Junior Efird, 93, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 70 years by his side, Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home.

Price was born January 10, 1930 in North Carolina to the late Grady Jacob Efird and the late Mary Jane Floyd Efird. 
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Lewis, Harvol, Floyd Lee, Gary, and William.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Sweet Home Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the chapel officiated by Pastor Preston Young. Burial will follow at the Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery at 28873 Sweet Home Church Road, Albemarle.

Price was a hard working man.  He loved his family and would do anything for anyone.  He worked on the families farm and then went on to enlist in the United States Army where he served from 1950 to 1953.  Price met the love of his life, Ruby, in 1952 and they have spent the last 70 years together raising their 5 children.  Some of Price's favorite pastimes was playing cards, pitching horseshoes, gardening, and working on his Ford tractor, and he enjoyed going to church most of all.

Survivors include wife, Ruby Ramelle Efird of Albemarle, NC, daughters, Barbara Elaine Faulkner, Wanda (Will) Spearen, Amy (David) Beard, sons, Mark Arthur Efird, and Joel Edward (Jodi) Efird; 40 plus grandchildren and 30 plus great grandchildren, and 1 set of great-great grandchildren; brother Gene Efird; sisters, Cassie Eddins and Judy (Tony) Morton.
