Peggy Howard

Peggy Ann McNeely Howard, 82 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at her home.

Peggy was born April 24, 1932 in Ware County, Georgia to the late John Paul McNeely and the late Margaret Aldridge Breen McNeely. She was also preceded in death by husband, John Everett Howard, Sr, in 2009.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 126 West North St., Albemarle. The Memorial Service will follow on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the church, officiated by Rev. Elizabeth Ayscue.

Survivors include two sons, John Everett (Bridgette Bray) Howard, Jr. of Burlington, NC and Matthew Edward (Phyllis) Howard of Cranford, NJ; daughter, Margaret Howard (Ken) McQueen of Bowling Green, KY; sister, Laura Elizabeth Self of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Meaghan McDaniel, Katherine McQueen, Eli Howard, Graham Howard; and a great-grandchild, Daphne McDaniel.

Peggy attended Queens College and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Creative Arts. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed quilting, reading, music, and other various crafts and art forms. She loved a good story and made those people around her laugh.
