Peggy Sue Austin, 79 years of age, of Concord, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord. The funeral service will be held at Shiloh UMC, Wednesday at 3:00 pm. Rev. De Hillyer will officiate.
Peggy was born September 10, 1935 in Concord, NC to the late Albertus Long and the late Inez Beatrice Furr. She retired from Allstate Insurance Co. after 35 years of service. She worked at K-Town Furniture for 9 years after her retirement. She was preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Long Baker, and brother Larry Long, and her daughter Emily Austin Jackson. Survivors include her daughters, Amy Austin Elwood (Delbert), and Marsha Austin Dickenson (Michael); brother, Bill Long of MD; 5 grandchildren, Barrett Elwood (Candis), Daniel Elwood, William Sutton (Heather), Austin Jackson, and Robert Jackson; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Peyton, Liam, and Cloie Sutton, Edison Aiken, Grant Ritcherson, Sawyer and Colton Elwood, Lane Elwood, and Aubrie James.
