Pauline Morton Shaver, 95 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.
Pauline was born October 11, 1919 in Stanly County, North Carolina, to the late Dock Franklin Morton and the late Ella Hudson Morton. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Allen Shaver; sisters, Flossie Mills Huneycutt, Gladys Isenhour, Annie Cannupp and Evelyn Thompson; and a brother, Theodore Morton.
Survivors include daughter, Judy Shaver Barbee and husband, Johnny; sons, Donald Allen Shaver and wife, Robin and G. Lynn Shaver and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Todd Barbee and wife Jerri, Charity Barbee, Stacy Shaver Ragsdale and husband Curtis, Dr. Matthew Allen Shaver and wife Elizabeth, and Sgt. Jeremy Alan Shaver, USMC, and girlfriend Heather Carter; three great grandsons and three great granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor James Potts and Rev. Ron Honeycutt. Burial will be at Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 2225 East Main Street, Albemarle.
Pauline was employed by Wiscassett Mills for over fifty years. She was a lifetime, faithful member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served on the Dorcus and Bereavement Committees, and held various other positions as long as her health allowed.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness and care shown by many friends and the various staff members at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie and Stanly Manor.
