Patricia Smith

Patricia Alden Smith, 93, of Charlotte, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Pat Smith was born January 12, 1932, in Marston, NC, to the late Amasa Crawford Alden and the late Lilia Mae Campbell Alden. She was also preceded in death by husband, Elton Dowd Smith; son, Jerry W. Smith; daughter, Linda S. Covington; 5 sisters, Marguerite Rivers, Doris Smith, Betty Jo Foley, Peggy Taylor, and Elsie Edmunds; and son-in-law, Ron Taylor.

Pat retired from Wesley Nursing Center. She was a loving and devoted wife for 69 years. Pat was a prayer warrior, who loved the Lord and her family. Most of all, she was a beloved mama, mamaz and sister. Pat was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandy S. Taylor, Jeannie (Ron) Simpson, and Jennifer S. (John) Martin; 12 grandchildren, Kristen, John, Matthew, Heather, Jason, Joshua, Gretchen, Angela, James, Ronnie, Kelly and Brandon; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Priscilla Lewis and Jeannie (Cary) Baldwin; daughter-in-law, Yon Kum Smith; son-in-law, Joe Covington; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm, Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The graveside service and burial will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, officiated by Johnny Lee Martin, Sr.
