Pamela Kay Arey, 68, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Pamela was born July 9, 1954 in Albemarle to the late Lloyd Calvin Arey and Kathleen Thorpe Arey. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Janice Arey Eudy.
Pamela was a graduate of North Stanly High School. She worked for Federal Pacific and later for Stanly County as a library assistant having retired in 2021 having served for over 31 years. She was known for her exemplary customer service and offering excellent Reader’s Advisory while there. She enjoyed yard sales, antiques especially dishes and fine linens, cats, and having lunch with her friends. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Pamela attended Albemarle First Assembly while she was able. She was an encouragement to all who knew her and “To know her was to love her”.
Survivors include sister, Kathy (George) Staton of Albemarle; brother, John Arey of Charlotte; 2 nieces, Angela Arey and Sandy Plowman; 3 nephews, Jacob Staton (Samantha), Brian (Jessica) Staton, and Robert (Mandy) Eudy; and dear friends Nancy (Jerry) Earnhardt; Doris Young; and Regina (Scotty) Farmer.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Monday, March 27, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service in celebration of Pamela's life will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Nate Drye. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Stanly County Public Library or American Cancer Society.
