Born on November 18, 1943, in Georgetown, Delaware, Oscar was the treasured son of the late Osceola Davis Hopkins and Oscar Lee Hopkins, Sr., and was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Alfred Martin Ingram.

Together, they built a family that was the center of Oscar's world. He is survived by his loving wife, Jutta, and his children, Audra Ashby, Oscar "Tre" Hopkins, and Sabrina Hopkins. His legacy of love continues through his siblings, Estelle Waples (Hurley), Kenneth Mifflin (Doris), Martina Williams (Freddie), Freda Ingram-Brown (Gerry), and Ivanetta Thomas (Terry).Oscar was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren—Blake, Andre, Jho Jho, David, Justin, Bradley, Romeo, Mateo, Avery, Kilynn, Justice, Oscar, and Jordan—and a doting great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and he took great delight in being a part of their lives. Kilynn wanted to add a little since she was the only girl and to say on behalf of all the Grandchildren. I was his little princess anytime I walked into the room his world got a bit brighter, but so did mine to me. He wasn’t just grandpa, but he was the only one who always saw me as their princess, no matter how much time passed by. We are all blessed to be able to share such a unique and special bond. I will always treasure the place that I held in his heart. Being his only granddaughter was a gift  And although all our hearts are broken by his passing, we can find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in each of us.  An active member of his community, Oscar was involved in various organizations, including the Masons, the Legion, and his beloved bowling league, where he spent countless joyful hours. His passions extended to fishing and hunting, activities he enjoyed while surrounded by family and friends. Oscar lived a life of adventure and heart, leaving a legacy of love and laughter.Oscar Lee Hopkins lived a life full of love and kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.
