Oren Morrison

Oren Caldwell Morrison, 83 of Oakboro, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at his home. Mr. Morrison was born September 13, 1930 in Cabarrus County to the late Arthur Caldwell Morrison and Carrie Isabelle Gardner Morrison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry and Wade Morrison, and sister, Rachel Dixon. He served in the US Army from 1952 until 1954 serving in Korea. A graveside service will be held at Oakboro Cemetery on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2 pm, officiated by Rev. Ron Honeycutt. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Mary Hartsell Morrison of the home; son, Oren Matthew Morrison and wife Angie Almond Morrison of Albemarle; daughter, Melinda Morrison Graham and husband Paul of Oakboro; grandchildren, Ryan Morrison, Caleb Morrison, Christopher Alnazer, and Dylan Alnazer; brother, Tom Morrison and wife Jeanette; sister's, Alice Linker, and Louise Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Stanly County. Memorials may also be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Stanly County 960 North First Street Albemarle, NC 28001.
