Olga Morici

Olga (Malcew) Morici passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2026, just shy of her 79th birthday. Born in Deggendorf, Germany, on August 31, 1947, she was raised on the shores of the Long Island Sound in Milford, CT, by her mother and adoptive father, Elena and Nikolaj Malcew. She later raised her own family in Baldwinsville, NY, before settling in Charlotte, NC, where she cherished 22 years of simple pleasures including long walks, crocheting, sharing a glass of wine with friends and family, and enjoying fellowship with parishioners at Newell Presbyterian Church.

Olga is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years and the love of her life, Frank Morici. True partners in adventure and avid cruisers, they explored more than 50 countries together, frequently accompanied by family and always making friends along the journey. In addition to her beloved husband, Olga is survived by her children, Glenn (Sandra) Morici of Harrisburg, NC, Katherine (Fritz) Lark of Irvington, NY, and Michael (Elizabeth) Morici, also of Harrisburg, NC, as well as her stepsister, Eleanor Galushko of East Haven, CT, and her family. She was the proud grandmother of Nicholas, Seth, Wilson, Elena, and Evan, and took immense joy in following all of their endeavors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Atrium Health Foundation (AtriumHealthFoundation.org/tribute) in support of the Levine Cancer Institute in gratitude for the 18 years of care provided to Olga by J. Stuart Salmon, MD, and his team.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd, Harrisburg NC.
