Nancy (Geri) S. Furr

Nancy S. (Geri) Furr, 89, of Kannapolis peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House surrounded by her family. Geri was born June 27, 1936 in Concord, NC to the late John C. Sherrill and the late Virginia L. Sherrill.

She was preceeded in death by her husband of 28 years, George E. (Jack) Cleaver and her husband of 38 years, Arnold H. Furr.

Known by many names-Geraldine, Nancy, Mom, Grandma, Granny. She was the heart of the family, fiercely loyal, endlessly generous, full of warmth and love.

Born and raised in Concord, NC, she worked for 49 years as a telephone operator with Concord Telephone Company where she displayed remarkable work ethic and strong dedication.

Geri was a long-time member of Harvest Community Church where she loved to worship her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful servant to her Lord, to her family and many others.

The family will hold a graveside service on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1:00pm.The service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jeff Burris.

Survivors include: Jack Cleaver, Cindy (Tim) Cauble, Ginger (Kevin) Alexander and Tonja (Jimmy) Counts. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
