Nancy J. Boglovits, 86, formerly of Cary, North Carolina passed away peacefully at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro, North Carolina.
She was born on June 10, 1939 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Edmund and Emily (Greytock) Shipkowski. She was preceded in death by her husband and life partner, John (Jack) W. Boglovits and an infant son, Michael J. Boglovits. After growing up in Pennsylvania, Nancy and Jack moved their growing family to North Carolina in 1966.
Nancy was a devoted Catholic and former parishioner of several Catholic churches in North Carolina over the years, including Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Albemarle, St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville and St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Cary. She loved to sing and spent quite a few years singing in the various church choirs on Sundays. After devoting herself to her children as they grew up, Nancy pursued jobs in banking and retail before retiring from an accounting position with SPX Corporation in Albemarle in 1999. Her interests included gardening, ceramics, music, card games and lots of Bunco and Bingo with her friends!
Nancy is survived by her three children and their spouses, John A. Boglovits and his wife, Kathie; Suzanne B. King and her husband, Stan; and Marianne K. Oberklein and her husband, Dan as well as two grandsons, G. Benton Patterson III and Michael J. Menzies (Imani). In addition, Nancy is survived by her two sisters, Kathleen McLaughlin (Richard) and Mim Neidich as well as several cousins and nieces and nephews.
Though Nancy experienced difficult times during her life, she always focused on her faith and her dedication to her family. We will miss her beautiful smile, her unselfishness, and her inner strength.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Norview Gardens, 949 Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood, North Carolina, 28128 and officiated by the Very Reverend Peter Fitzgibbons, Pastor of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church.
