Nancy Joyce Black

Nancy Joyce Black, 88, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.

Born on September 21, 1937 in North Carolina to the late Ernest Alexander Gardner and the late Edna Whiteside Gardner. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jacob Wade Black, son, Rick Helms, and son, Raymond Scott Helms.

The funeral service will be on Thursday July 2 at 11:00 am at Bethel Church in Midland officiated by Jeremy Bracket. Burial will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery at 12700 Idlebrook Rd .

She is lovingly remembered by her family, including her stepson, David Black, her granddaughter, Kristen Black, and her grandson, Bryan Scott Helms.

Her father gave her the middle name Joyce because he said she was the joy of his life. She remained a joy to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to bring love and joy to her family for generations to come.
