Nancy Avery

Nancy Carol Avery, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019.

Nancy was born May 19, 1939 in Binghamton, NY to the late Ruby Holden Bly.

Nancy was a beloved sister and aunt.  She dearly loved her dogs.  Nancy was a hard worker all her life and she had a very big, soft heart.  She enjoyed working as a nurse's aide at Binghamton Psychiatric Hospital.

Survivors include her son, Craig Avery; sister, Dawn Ferrara and husband, Manuel, of Concord; niece, Desiree Brister of Carbondale, PA; beloved dog, Bo; and brothers, Joseph Van Wert and wife, Sandy, and Louis Van Wert, both of Conklin, NY.

A memorial service in celebration of Nancy's life will be on Monday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, North Carolina.  Nancy will be laid to rest in Vestal, NY at a later date.
