Mrs. Myrtle Lucille Melton Howell, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 12 PM to 2 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A celebration of life for Mrs. Howell will follow at 2 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, with burial at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle. Mrs. Howell was born on September 7, 1925 in Anson County, NC , to the late Charles and Anna Carpenter Melton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill†Howell; siblings, Evelyn Sill, Ray Melton, Grover Melton, Louise Pinson; and sons, Billy Howell and Robert “Robbie Dryâ€. She is survived by her daughters, Winnie Dry Goforth and husband Ray, Patsy Aaron, Nell Ellingsen and husband Gaylen, Ann Gates and husband Hal, and Ellen Smith and husband Ervin; ten grandchildren, Ansley and Lance Isenhour, Jessica and Walter Carpenter, Jennifer and Ashley Carter, Derek Aaron and fiancée Lauren Carriker, Harley Daniel and Dianne Smith, Gary Ellingsen, Jeaneen and Kevin Erickson, Jeanelle and Luke Kunz, Jeanette Gates, and David and Ashley Aaron; and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Howell was a former employee of the Wiscasset Hosiery Mill and later in life was owner and operator of Howell’s Store and Howell’s Laundromat. She was a member of the Albemarle 7th Day Adventist Church until the day she died. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
