Myraden Pierce, of Harrisburg, N. C. passed away quietly on September 9, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Union County, on March 12, 1933 to Carol F. East of Concord and the late Dwight Pierce. He attended the public schools of Union County and served in the United States Marines, having served a tour of duty in Japan. After his military service, he began his studies at Charlotte College and later at Purdue University. A service celebrating the life of Mr. Pierce will take place at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte, NC on September 13, 2012, at 11: 00 a.m. A visitation and luncheon will be provided in the Trinity Room immediately following the service. He was an accomplished steel fabricator and started his own business in the 1960’s in Mint Hill. The business began as Mint Hill Machine Shop. This business later grew into Fabricated Products, Inc., where he served as President and CEO for many years until his retirement. Fabricated Products built steel vessels and had nationally as well as globally known customers such as Eastman Kodak and Exxon. He had a passion for work of all kinds, including design and construction of equipment and buildings. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Judy T. Pierce, of Harrisburg; his children, Leslie M. Pierce (Lisa) of Burnsville, Vanghi Pierce Trull (Ken) of Monroe, Victor N. Pierce of Monroe, and Master Sergeant Klane B. Pierce (Vickie) of Lakenheath Air Force Base, England; and granddaughters, Leslie Ann Pierce, Courtney Trull, Hayley Trull and Ashlyn Pierce. In addition to his devotion to his family and his work, he also had a great fondness for life outdoors, including traveling as well as raising cattle and other farming pursuits. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the physicians and nurses who attended Mr. Pierce in his final illness, with particular thanks being expressed to the staff of Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The family has requested memorials be sent to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, North Carolina 28081, or to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
