Mumford Clydell “MC†Love, Jr., 81 of Harrisburg, NC passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC on Wednesday, September 5th from 6 until 8 pm. At other times the family will accept visitors at the home. The funeral service will be held at Westford United Methodist Church, 273 Hwy 49, Concord, NC on Thursday, September 6th at 4 pm, with Rev. Jeff Rushing and Dr. Carl Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Roberta United Methodist Church in Concord, NC. Mr. Love was born on April 26, 1931, to the late Mumford Clydell Love, Sr. and Claudia Louise Nesbit Love. He served in the US Airforce for four years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was mayor of North Palm Beach, Fl. for two terms and also served on the council. He has been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Palm Beach Gardens Fl. for 45 years. Mr. Love taught sailing while living in California, loved golf and while serving on the advisory board he managed the North Palm Beach Country Club. He was a mechanical engineer at Pratt and Whitney in Florida for 36 years. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of North Palm Beach and participated in the Indian Guides with his son. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patsy Ruth Blackwelder Love; one daughter, Ronda Love Vani and husband Michael of Concord, NC; one son, Rodney Glen Love and wife Sundie Church of Florida; six grandchildren, Arick Love, Brandon Love, Krista Newton, Adam Church, Eric Vani, and Alissa Vani; a great-grandson, Wyatt Church and one brother, Ray Love and wife Janice of SC.
