Morris David Griffin, 87, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
Mr. Griffin was born July 30, 1933 in Oakboro, North Carolina to the late Robert Vernon Griffin and the late Lizzie M. Stoker Griffin.
He was also preceded in death by wife, Annie Louise Griffin, and daughter, Rhonda Sue Griffin.
Mr. Griffin loved being around people. In his younger years, he owned two small businesses, one of which was a small country store, that everyone in the community still remembers and talks about to this day. He also loved remembering the past and was a great story teller. He could tell you in great detail the history of Oakboro or of his time working in the cotton mill. But most of all, he loved his family. He was a selfless man who always put his family first. It did not matter how tired he was from a day of work, or what his needs were, he gave all he had to his family.
