Miriam Leona Childers Schultz, 89, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord.
Miriam was born September 28, 1928 in Concord to the late James Erbie Childers and the late Faye Baker Childers. She was also preceded in death in 2003 by her beloved husband of 54 years, William Moe Schultz; son, William James "Butch" Schultz; and brother, James Erbie Childers, Jr..
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, Friday, January 26, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 1:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tim Yates. She will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home of her daughter, Cindy Cox.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Boone and husband Rick of Gastonia, Cindy Cox and husband Charles of Kannapolis, Lisa Templeton and husband Larry of Concord; grandchildren, Al Schultz, Derek Boone and wife Angela, Jessica Sears and husband James, Charles Cox, Sarah Cox, Nathan Cox, Michael Templeton, Leila Jones and husband Gillon, Mattie Templeton; six great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Judy Schultz of Concord.
Miriam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She devoted her whole life to her family. She also enjoyed cooking and loved flowers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Morningside Assisted Living and Hospice of Cabarrus County for their compassionate care.
