Maxine Hartsell Jacobs, 74, of Concord, went to be with her Lord and Savior and to join her parents, Leonard David “LD” Hartsell and Betty Jo Green Hartsell on Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2024.
Maxine was born on March 15, 1950, in Cabarrus County. She served her family as a wife and homemaker, extending her care to the next generation by keeping her grandchildren while their parents worked. She loved her church and was actively involved until Parkinson’s kept her home. Even then, she watched online and was committed to Multiply Church, formerly First Assembly. Her faith in God carried her and was evident to all who knew her. She was always ready to share the love of Jesus with everyone.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 57 years and the love of her life, Danny Jacobs, who was faithful to the vows he made to her, caring for her at home until her transition to her eternal home. She is cherished by her children and their spouses, Danny and Tammy Jacobs, Jr., Shelia and Jeff Howell, and David and Kim Jacobs, all of Concord, North Carolina. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Justin, Caroline, Owen and Beau Hinson of Cumming, Georgia; Jessica, Dylan and Addie Clark of Concord, North Carolina; Kiersten Jacobs and Jason Lindsay of Mooresville, North Carolina; Troy and Laura Kate Howell of Kannapolis, North Carolina; Hunter, Sommer, Everleigh and Liam Jacobs of Florida; Trent Howell of Concord, North Carolina; and her sisters, Nancy Sossamon and Brenda Bundy, both of Concord, North Carolina.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for the exceptional care and compassion they demonstrated during her last days.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A service celebrating Maxine’s life will be held at Multiply Church, The Whidden Auditorium at 150 Warren C. Coleman Blvd. in Concord, North Carolina on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM, with Rev. David Jacobs and Rev. Dr. Douglas Witherup officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
