Maver Frances Johnson Ford, 93 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews.
Maver was born July 29, 1921 in Harnett County to the late McDuffie Johnson and the late Annie Elizabeth Turlington Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Ray Ford in 2003 and her brother, LaVonne Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Arlington Baptist Church, 9801 Arlington Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28227. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Dr. Steve Gandy will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Arlington Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road., Charlotte, NC 28227.
Survivors include daughters, Judy Ford (William) Ford of Charlotte, and Janet Ford (Larry) McClain of New Ellenton, SC; grandchildren, William Ford, Dawn Ford Lockhart, Kelly McClain Key and Chris McClain; great-granddaughters, Ashley and Kristen Ford, and Kendall Key, and great grandson, Camden Key; brothers, McDuffie Johnson, Ray Johnson, and Johnny Johnson; sisters, Doris Turner, and Polly Mullis.
