Mary Turner
August 30, 1919 — January 9, 2015
Mary Alice Efird Turner, 95 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Tucker Hospic House, Kannapolis, NC.
Mary was born August 30, 1919 in Stanly County to the late Cyrus Lee Efird and Maggie Elizabeth Efird.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Turner, in 1989; a son in law, Danny Hinson, in 2013; eight brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the Efird Parlor at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, 16592 St. Martin Road, Albemarle, where she will lie in state for 1 hour prior to the service that will begin at 3:00 pm. Rev. Donald M. Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughter, Brenda T. Hinson and Barbara T. Crook both of Albemarle; grandchildren, Dana Hinson Ramsey (Tony), Amanda Hinson Morgan (Jeffrey) also of Albemarle, Chad Allen Perry (Jenna) of Mt. Pleasant, and Christopher Edward Perry of Myrtle Beach, SC; seven great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the personnel of Stanly County Home Health, especially to Marla and Janie, who provided excellent care for her.
