Mary Marie Roberson Misenheimer, 91, of Richfield, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024.
She was born December 28, 1932, in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Robert Lincoln Roberson and the late Minnie Louise Sparks Roberson.
She graduated from Richfield High School and later attended two years of business school.
Mary Marie married her high school sweetheart of 49 years, George Bill Misenheimer, on April 3, 1950. She was a loving wife and mother who cared about her family and all of their adventures. She always had a garden so she could can her own foods. She loved caring for her animals, especially her favorite cat named Cookie. Mary Marie enjoyed a simple life of cooking, family gatherings, holidays, and going to the lake. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren who skied and swam.
In her later years, she enjoyed traveling, where she later met Billy Walls and subsequently married. They traveled from coast to coast together.
She was a Credit Manager at Grants, a bookkeeper, owner of Finger Grocery Store and Grill, and later retired from Atrium Health Hospital in Albemarle, NC.
She was also a member of New Bethel Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, George Bill Misenheimer; brothers, Doyle Roberson, Paul Roberson, Reid Roberson, Ernest Roberson, Glen Roberson, Sammie Roberson, and Hubert Roberson; and sisters, Maxine Curlee and Helen Frick. Mary was third to the youngest of 10 and the last living sibling.
She is survived by her son, Alan Misenheimer and daughter, Terri Barringer (Bill). Mary was proud of her grandchildren, Treece Barringer (Amanda) and Jessica Astoria (Todd). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Shane Barringer, Luke Astoria, Valerie Astoria, and Andy Barringer. She also has many nieces and nephews who remember their loving aunt.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm - 1:45pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024 at New Bethel Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 2:00pm at New Bethel Lutheran Church in Richfield officiated by Pastor John Kahl. Soloist and eulogy by Travis Cauble. Graveside rites will be held immediately following the service at the New Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery at 21746 Rogers Road, Richfield.
