Mary Frances Burgess Ferris

Mary Frances Burgess Ferris, 45, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Oakboro.

Mary was born January 5, 1980 in North Carolina to John Benjamin Burgess and Pamela Jean Burgess.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Claude and Margaret Burgess, maternal grandparents Francis Scruggs, Geneva Drye Scruggs Foard, and Boyce N. Foard, and sister Debra L. Burgess, mother-in-law Linda Ferris.

Mary spent twenty years as a Emergency Room Nurse for Mercy Hospital of Charlotte. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt. Mary had a kind and loving heart, she never met a stranger. She will be missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 1:00pm -1:45pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. A funeral service will follow at 2pm in the Jack Hartsell Memorial Chapel.

Survivors include husband, Edward Mitchell Ferris of Charlotte, NC. parents, Pamela Jean Burgess and John Benjamin Burgess of Oakboro, sisters Cassandra Harrington of Monroe, and Catherine Burgess of Oakboro, NC and three nephews Ashton John Kennedy, Gavin Ray Kennedy both of Locust, and Everett John Harwood of Oakboro, NC. Father- in- Law Henry Ferris, and brothers- in-laws Henry and Jim.
