Martha Morton

August 19, 1929 — February 21, 2023

Martha Katherine Osborne Morton, 93, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.

Martha was born August 19, 1929 in Stanly County to the late Garrison Eli Osborne and the late Mollie Melinda Osborne.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl James Morton;  brother, David Lloyd Osborne; and sisters, Ruth J. Osborne and Mary Ross Long.

Martha was a member of Eastway Baptist Church in Charlotte.  She dearly loved her church.  Martha enjoyed reading and sewing.  She was very thankful for her dear friends.  Martha was a loving sister and aunt.  She will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Survivors include sister, Naomi (Glenn) Hatley of Stanfield, NC; sister, Esther Smith of Red Cross; sister, Sarah White of Locust; brother, Nathan (Pat) Osborne of Ridgecrest; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service in celebration of Martha's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, officiated by Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace.  Burial will follow at the First Baptist Cemetery, 320 South Central Ave., Locust.

Memorial donations may be made to Eastway Baptist Church, 2749 Eastway Dr, Charlotte, NC 28205.
