Marshall Lee

Marshall "Jimmy" James Lee, 82 years of age, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, after declining health over the past few years.

Mr. Lee was born March 5, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Coy Ray Lee and the late Ella Rumple. He was also preceded in death by his brother Sonny Lee.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Rev. Jim Hood of Kerr Street United Methodist Church. Burial will then follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC, with military honors.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carolyn "Darlene" Lee; sons, Randy Lee and wife Robin, Barry Lee and wife Susan; three grandchildren, Brent Lee, Rebekah Lynn Lee Mullis, and Rachel Lee; two great grandchildren, Keaton and Tatum Lee; sister Eloise Lee Rumple; as well as his constant companion (dog) "Lucy".

Jimmy served during the Korean War in the United States Coast Guard. He retired as a Sgt. in the detective division of the Concord Police Department. Mr. Lee was a member of Stokes Masonic Lodge No. 32. He had a love for gardening, and spent his retirement cultivating this passion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County, 2010 Wilshire Ct. SW, Concord, NC 28025; or Kerr Street United Methodist Church, 405 Kerr St. NW, Concord, NC 28025.
