Marion Blansett, Jr

Marion Green Blansett, Jr., 93 years of age, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home in Midland. Mr. Blansett was born June 3, 1920 in Virginia to the late Marion Green Blansett, Sr. and the late Wilda Lee Horton Blansett . He was also preceded in death by his son Thomas Shannon Blansett, six brothers and three sisters. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, December 27, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Locust and will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Survivors include wife of 68 years, Merlyne Shows Blansett of Midland; daughter, Kathy Harker of Midland; grandchildren, Terrie Murphy of Concord, and Alan (Heather) Harker of China Grove; and five great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Blansett family.
