Marilyn Baucom

Marilyn Louise Howard Baucom, 88, of Oakboro, passed away June 15, 2013 at CMC NorthEast, Concord. The family will receive friends at Mineral Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Oakboro, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at Mineral Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday at 4:00 pm. Rev. Rod Denny and Rev. Kinney Wallace will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Clontz. Born May 13, 1925, in Stanly County, NC, she is the daughter of the late Sidney Ellis Howard and the late Odessa Collette Howard. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Julius Roy Baucom in 1986 and her son Danny Max Baucom in 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Clontz and husband Harold of Oakboro; grandchildren, Michael Baucom of Lenoir, Scott Clontz of Oakboro, Julia York and husband Caleb of Oakboro; daughter-in-law, Beverly Baucom of Oakboro; brother, Edward “Bill” Howard and wife, Margie, of Oakboro; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and working in her flowers. She enjoyed each day and all the simple joys that life brought. Memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 4694 NC 205 Hwy. So., Oakboro, NC 28129. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the family.
