Mariann Shue

Mariann Shue will be remembered as a deeply devoted and loyal wife whose life was defined by her love for family, friends, and coworkers. She had a generous spirit and a kind heart, always placing the needs and well-being of others before her own. Mariann found great joy in the simple beauties of life. She had a remarkable green thumb and a passion for gardening, with a special love for orchids, ice plants, and Christmas cactuses. Her gardens reflected her care and patience, bringing color and life to all who saw them. She loved all birds, but had a special place in her heart for hummingbirds. She also enjoyed working on puzzles, taking peaceful walks in the park, traveling to visit family and taking photos of nature and family.

One of Mariann’s most endearing qualities was her natural connection with children. She loved babies and kids and had a special way of making them feel safe and loved. Her warmth and nurturing presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Above all, Mariann was an amazing and devoted wife. She cared for her husband, Larry, with unwavering strength and compassion during his battle with cancer and other health challenges. Her dedication and love were evident in every moment she spent by his side.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC 28026.

Mariann is survived by her husband, Larry Shue; her sister, Lisa Durham and her fiancé’ Pat Wells; her stepmother, Kay Durham; her nieces, Krista Schafer and Hanna Schafer; her brother-in-law, Terry Shue; her stepdaughter, Cris Misenheimer and her step grandchildren Emma, Allie and Avery Misenheimer.

Mariann will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, selflessness, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
