Margaret Godwin Howard, 85, of Rock Hill, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at Rock Hill Acute Care in Rock Hill.
Mrs. Howard was born July 26, 1940, in Burnsville, Anson County, North Carolina to the late James Henry Godwin and Ruby Staton Godwin.
She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas Wade Howard and brother, Charlie Hampton Godwin.
Margaret was a simple, hard-working and heartfelt woman, always doing everything she could to support her family. Children always came first, whether her own or those of neighbors or at school. She had tight bonds with all members of her family. What she did for work reflected her love and care for children and her community, working early on as a crossing guard and later in school food service. Margaret is also fondly remembered as The Yeast Roll Lady at Quincy’s, where she worked for many years. She took great pride in organizing family and high school reunions as long as she was able to do so.
