Mabel Jamison - Charlotte, NC
Mabel Jamison, ninety-eight, passed away on January 16th, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Tom, her son, Jeffery, and her great-grandson, Brent Austin.
Mabel was a wonderful, loving mother to her family. She was a devout Christian, and lifelong member of East Avenue Tabernacle Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and eventually, Craig Avenue Presbyterian Church, when the two congregations merged. Mabel was active in many church activities, including Sunday School, and the Women’s Circle. Later in life, Mable found pleasure in the daily reading study of her Bible, watching her beloved Atlanta Braves, and knitting thousands of dish cloths to raise money for the ARP Bonclarken Conference Center, in Flat Rock, NC. Also, Mabel was a member of the Charity League of Charlotte.
She is survived by her daughter, MJ Valdes (Moses), from Atlanta, GA., sons RK Jamison (Vickie), and TR Jamison (Hope), of Charlotte, NC. Loving Grandchildren who will miss their “MeeMaw” are: Jody, Jerrad (Tammy), Shannon, Amy (Jeff), Christie (Josué), Jason (Amy), Aislinn (Jeremy), Paul, and Brian. “MeeMaw” will also be missed by all of her loving great-grandchildren: Jordan, Travis, Grant, Carly, Hailey, Moisés, David, Ashley and Maddie.The family is grateful for the loving care of Sondra Skibbe, and The Levine and Dickson Hospice House at Southminster, http://hpccr.org
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Ave.,Midland, NC 28107, on Monday, January 19th 2015 from 10:00 - 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00. Interment will take place immediately after the services, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
