Lydia Rosetta Elizabeth Dennis Barringer, age 102, of 2337 East Main Street, Albemarle, went to be with her Lord on May 01, 2010, surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends 6 to 8, Sunday, May 2 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at the home of her daughter, Jean Poplin, 2327 East Main Street, Albemarle. Funeral service will be at 2 pm on Monday, May 3 at Anderson Grove Baptist Church with a 30 minute state. Rev. Ron Honeycutt will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Ms. Barringer worked in the card room at Wiscassett Mills. A 92 year member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church, she and her late husband Henry, donated some of the timber used in building the current church building. She was the last survivor of 17 children and was a positive thinker. She worked with the Tape Ministry at church for more than 30 years. Known for her fried jack pies, she lived in the home she was born in. Born in Stanly County on April 09, 1908, she is the daughter of the late George Dennis and the late Rosetta Lowder Dennis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Paul Barringer in 1966. She is survived by a son, George M. Barringer and wife Jeanne of Pa.; daughter, Jean Poplin and husband Hoyle of Albemarle, NC; grandchildren, Dale Poplin and wife Sherry of Albemarle, NC, and Melody Morton and husband Mike of Advance, NC and great grandchildren; Emily Elizabeth Morton Moore and husband Brian, Zac Morton and Samuel Poplin; and great great granddaughter, Briley Elizabeth Moore.
