In Loving Memory of Luvon Rose Marie Myrie Largie

September 9, 1950 – October 7, 2026

Luvon Rose Marie Myrie Largie was born on September 9, 1950, in Kingston, Jamaica, to her mother, Delesia McCallum, and father, David Myrie. She attended high school and went on to college, eventually becoming a travel consultant for much of her career. Throughout her professional life, she held various positions, including leadership roles at MCI, cruise consulting, and entrepreneurial endeavors involving multiple online shops.

In her early twenties, Luvon married and welcomed her first child, Kirk Anthony Hutchinson. Although her first marriage did not last, she later met and married Winston Largie. Together, they had two daughters, Shay Olivia Largie and Tiffany Andrea Largie. In 1981, the family migrated to Miami, Florida, where shortly afterward, Winston's eldest daughter, Yvonne Largie, also came to live with the family.

Luvon was a loving, generous, outspoken, and free-spirited woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures. She especially got a thrill out of driving.

From baking treats for school bake sales and wrapping presents "from Dad" or "from Santa," to helping friends and family members in need, she gave freely of herself.

Besides her love of driving, she enjoyed collecting pretty things like bells, dolls, unusual purses and glassware. One of her most cherished qualities was her remarkable ability to remember everyone's birthday, making each person feel loved, valued, and remembered. She also helped many loved ones immigrate to the United States, opening doors to new opportunities and brighter futures.

Above all, Luvon was the cohesive force of her family, the rock, the backbone, and the glue that attempted to hold everyone together - a huge task - extending her love and commitment equally to Winston's side. Her strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion created bonds that will endure for generations.

Luvon leaves behind her husband, Winston Largie; her brothers, Dervin and David; her three children, Kirk, Shay, and Tiffany; her stepdaughter, Yvonne; and her eight grandchildren, Shereen, Shaun, Jayda, Jordan, Maya, Sierra, Ace, and Kayla.

Her legacy lives on through the family she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the countless acts of love and kindness that defined her journey.

May she rest in eternal peace.
