Lula Josephine Love

Lula Josephine Love, 95, of Harrisburg, went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, August 7, 2026 at The Greens at Cabarrus in Concord.

Lula was born January 26, 1931 in Cabarrus County to the late Dave and Idell Motley. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mynor Love; son, Steve Love; son, Mickey Love; brothers, Ray Motley and Bud Motley, Jr.; and sisters, Eula Tarlton and Edith Ritchie.

She found joy in gardening, beautiful flowers, sewing, and cooking, especially when she could share those things with the people she loved. She treasured teaching her grandchildren how to cook and enjoyed gathering her family around the table for meals in her home. Lula had a special way of caring for others and making everyone feel loved and welcome. Her home was always a place where family and friends could gather, share a meal, and make memories. She loved telling stories of her childhood, from making biscuits with her mother and gardening with her father to riding bicycles with her sisters. A woman of faith, Lula found strength and comfort in the Lord throughout her life. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted mom, a cherished grandma, and a loving sister whose greatest joy was caring for the people she loved.

Survivors include son, Jimmy (Ginger) Love; daughter, Jane (Rodney) Moss; son, Mike (Jean) Love; sisters, Betty Thomas and Pat Cox; 11 grandchildren, Kim, Jamie, Joey, Ashlea, Scott, Meredith, Jennifer, Michael, Elizabeth, Holly and Heather; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The graveside service in celebration of Lula's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Harrisburg Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Paul Batson.
