Lula Barringer

Mrs. Lula Mae Smith Barringer, 96, of Concord, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Universal Healthcare. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 12-2pm at Cold Springs United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was born to the late Ellis and Anna Smith, May 21, 1916, in Stanly County. In addition to her parents, Lula is preceded in death by her husband, James Morrison Barringer, Sr; 3 children, Benny Eugene Barringer, James Morrison Barringer, Jr. and Carolyn Virginia Proctor and 1 granddaughter. Lula worked at Cannon Mills Plant 6 until she retired after 35 years of service. She was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church. She loved to laugh and talk. Lula is survived by her daughter, Betty Barringer and son-in-law Herman Barringer, Jr. of Concord; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
